EDGE Tutor: The Human Edge in Digital Learning.
About the Role
This role is responsible for building and scaling Edge Tutor’s teacher acquisition engine. Success is measured by the ability to generate qualified teacher applicants, improve funnel conversion, activate teacher supply, and ensure a predictable pipeline of tutors capable of meeting current and future client demand.
The role combines growth marketing, recruitment marketing, analytics, and operational execution to solve one of Edge Tutor’s most critical challenges: creating a scalable and reliable teacher supply ecosystem.
This role is 80% teacher acquisition, 20% brand. The right hire sets the brand tone for teacher recruitment and then relentlessly drives applicant volume and quality. If your instinct is to build brand awareness before filling the funnel, this is not the role for you.
You will own strategy, budget, and a team of 5—working directly with Recruitment, Training, and Account Management to ensure teacher supply keeps pace with client demand and business growth.
Key Responsibilities
Teacher Lead Generation (Primary)
- Own and drive qualified teacher acquisition—designing inbound and outbound programmes that attract credentialed, active educators to the platform.
- Build and optimize teacher-specific funnels across paid social (Meta, LinkedIn), SEO-driven content, email nurture, job boards (including Jobstreet, Indeed, and similar platforms), referral programmes, and community channels.
- Define teacher audience segments, messaging frameworks, and conversion paths in partnership with Recruitment and Revenue Operations.
- Track and improve teacher lead quality metrics: application rate, demo attendance rate, demo pass rate, and time-to-activation.
Recruitment Marketing & Employer Branding
- Build Edge Tutor’s employer brand as the platform of choice for qualified tutors across target markets (Philippines, Sri Lanka, and future geographies).
- Develop compelling value propositions and creative assets that speak directly to teacher motivations — flexibility, income, community, and professional development.
- Manage job listing strategy—including active management of listings on Jobstreet, Indeed, and other job platforms that drive the majority of our teacher leads—alongside teacher-facing landing pages and application experience to maximise conversion.
- Partner with Recruitment to align marketing activity with hiring timelines, subject-area demand, and market-specific needs.
Candidate Funnel Management
- Own the full teacher acquisition funnel from awareness to activation — identifying and fixing leakage at every stage.
- Establish lead scoring, qualification criteria, and handoff processes between Marketing and Recruitment.
- Build nurture sequences for applicants at each funnel stage to reduce drop-off and accelerate progression.
- Monitor funnel conversion rates and implement rapid tests to improve performance.
ATS & Product Collaboration
- Partner with the Product and Technology team on the development and optimisation of Edge Tutor’s in-house Applicant Tracking System (ATS), providing marketing and acquisition requirements to ensure the platform supports seamless lead capture, funnel tracking, and candidate management.
- Serve as the marketing stakeholder in ATS roadmap discussions, ensuring that acquisition data, reporting needs, and candidate experience improvements are reflected in product development priorities.
Acquisition Analytics & Supply Forecasting
- Define and track core acquisition KPIs: qualified applicants, cost per applicant, cost per hire, funnel conversion rates, and channel performance.
- Build acquisition dashboards and deliver regular reporting to senior leadership with clear insights and recommendations.
- Develop supply forecasting models that give the business visibility into future teacher availability by market and subject area.
- Use data to continuously optimize channel mix, targeting, and messaging.
Team, Budget & Channels
- Lead and develop a team across content, digital, design, and campaign functions; manage agency and freelancer capacity.
- Own the teacher acquisition budget; allocate across channels with a bias toward measurable, performance-driven programmes.
- Continuously test, optimise, and expand acquisition channels—reducing reliance on any single source.
- Stay ahead of AI-assisted marketing tools, recruitment marketing trends, and EdTech talent market dynamics.

- MBA or professional certifications in growth marketing or analytics are advantageous.

- Proven results driving high-volume, quality-screened applicant pipelines — not just lead volume.
- Experience managing multi-channel acquisition programmes across paid, organic, and community channels.
- Background in EdTech, online tutoring, staffing, or two-sided marketplace businesses is a strong advantage.
- Budget ownership and data-driven investment decisions across paid and organic channels.
- Led and developed teams of 5 direct reports in a high-growth or technology environment.
