Job Description:

The Vice President of Finance (VP of Finance) is a key member of the executive leadership team, responsible for overseeing all financial operations of the company. This includes financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, risk management, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations. The VP of Finance will play a strategic role in supporting company growth, improving financial performance, and ensuring long-term financial sustainability.


Responsibilities:

  • Financial Strategy & Leadership:
    • Lead the development and execution of financial strategies aligned with the company’s business goals.
    • Provide financial insights and guidance to the CEO, Board of Directors, and executive team to support decision-making.
    • Oversee financial planning, analysis, and reporting, ensuring accurate financial forecasting and budgeting.
    • Monitor key financial metrics and KPIs, driving initiatives to improve performance and profitability.
  • Budgeting & Forecasting:
    • Develop and manage annual budgets, ensuring efficient allocation of resources and alignment with company goals.
    • Provide accurate, timely financial forecasts and reports, anticipating trends and proactively managing financial risks.
    • Prepare financial models and analyses to support strategic initiatives, new business opportunities, and investments.
  • Financial Operations & Compliance:
    • Oversee accounting, auditing, tax, and treasury functions, ensuring compliance with local and international financial regulations.
    • Ensure timely preparation of financial statements in accordance with GAAP/IFRS standards.
    • Manage relationships with external auditors, banks, and regulatory agencies.
  • Risk Management & Governance:
    • Identify and manage financial risks, ensuring proper risk management controls and processes are in place.
    • Provide financial oversight on mergers and acquisitions, capital investments, and corporate restructures.
    • Ensure the organization has robust internal controls and processes to safeguard assets and financial integrity.
  • Investor Relations:
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for investors, analysts, and financial stakeholders, ensuring transparent and proactive communication.
    • Develop and execute the company’s investor relations strategy, including the preparation of investor presentations, quarterly earnings reports, and press releases.
    • Ensure consistency and accuracy in financial messaging, while managing investor expectations and addressing inquiries regarding financial performance, growth strategies, and long-term plans.
    • Organize and lead investor meetings, roadshows, and conference calls, maintaining positive relationships with current and potential investors.
    • Collaborate with senior leadership to ensure alignment between corporate strategies and investor communications.
  • Team Leadership & Development:
    • Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
    • Build cross-functional relationships across departments to ensure alignment on financial goals and support company-wide initiatives.
    • Support corporate development efforts, including investor relations and capital raising activities.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or related field; MBA or Master’s in Finance preferred.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation required.
  • Minimum of 10+ years of progressive financial leadership experience, with at least 5 years in an executive-level finance role.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP/IFRS, financial modeling, budgeting, and financial analysis.
  • Proven experience in managing complex financial operations, including capital investments and risk management.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and influence at all levels of the organization.
